Xpress-Yourself Dance CIC – Keep Dancing Sutton Coldfield

Xpress-Yourself Dance CIC run a weekly Keep Dancing Sutton Coldfield dance class suitable for older adults in Sutton Coldfield. The dance class runs at Sutton Coldfield Methodist Church on a Monday 10-11 for just £2 .The class does not run on bank holidays. You will learn dances from around the world with no need for a partner. Places are limited so booking in advance is essential You can book your place here . This class has been generously funded by Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust.

Xpress-Yourself Dance CIC – Tea Dance Sutton Coldfield

Xpress-Yourself Dance CIC has been awarded funding from Sutton Coldfield NNS to run tea dances for older adults. The tea dance will be non traditional in that you will not need a partner to dance with and all dance will be taught solo. You will enjoy sandwiches, scones tea and coffee, have the opportunity to learn new dances and meet other people and are free to attend. Places are limited so please do book your place by emailing admin@xpress-yourself.co.uk The tea dances will run at Sutton Coldfield Methodist Church.

Elderberries Group

A welcoming and relaxed drop-in group for the over 50s to enjoy socialising and conversation over light refreshments.

Sutton Choral (Choir)

Sutton Choral is a friendly and sociable amateur mixed voice choir of about 50 singers, directed by Richard Mason and based in Sutton Coldfield.

They sing sacred and secular music, mainly from the baroque and classical eras but also works from later periods and perform two to three major concerts a year. Find out more information here

Alzheimer’s Society – Singing for the Brain

‘Singing for the Brain’ is a service provided by Alzheimer’s Society which uses singing to bring people together in a friendly and stimulating social environment.

 Singing is not only an enjoyable activity, it can also provide a way for people with dementia, along with their carers, to express themselves and socialise with others in a fun and supportive group.

Please note that refreshments start from 10:30am, Singing for the Brain sessions run from 11am to midday. For the afternoon session refreshments start at 1:30, singing session runs from 2-3pm.

Shared Reading Sessions

“Shared Reading sessions take place across the UK in community spaces, libraries, care homes, hospices, prisons, hospitals, online and on the telephone, often involving people who have not read for many years. A friendly Reader Leader provides a warm welcome and something specially chosen to read. Colour and Light Art Group

A new art group is starting on Wednesday afternoon from 1-3pm in the Benedict Room behind St Nicholas church. Open to anyone who enjoys making art of all sorts and at all levels. Please refer to the poster for further details.
