Keeping Strong and Steady

Keeping Strong and Steady is a Facebook group set up by Xpress-Yourself to support people to improve strength and balance, and encourage individuals to be independent for longer and to avoid falls. The group is suitable for those looking to complete gentle exercises that will help them feel more confident when out and about.

Each week on a Monday, #moveitmonday exercises are demonstrated for you to join in with from home. Throughout the week hints and tips are given to provide to tips to create the habit of incorporating different exercises into your daily routine.

The NHS states ‘There’s strong evidence that people who are active have a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, some cancers, depression and dementia. If you want to stay pain-free, reduce your risk of mental illness, and be able to go out and stay independent well into old age, you’re advised to keep moving.’
