Keep Dancing Tea Dance

Xpress-Yourself has been running Keep Dancing classes for five years this year and celebrated by hosting a Non Traditional Tea Dance at Solihull Methodist Church on Wednesday 18th July.

‘What a great time we all had this afternoon at the tea dance, thanks so much to Faye and all the teachers for making it so special, dancing is just fabulous!’

It was an afternoon of dancing, beautiful tea dresses, delicious scones and a chance for dancers to meet others dancers from across the region.

Seventy dancers were in attendance and Radio BBC WM even popped in to say Hello.

‘I don’t know what is it about people who dance but we are all lovely’

Never one to be shy in front of an audience, Shirley Epstein, one of our longest standing members gave a lovely speech about what dance means to her and how dance can be an escape for us all.

As a treat for all the Keep Dancing dancers, the Xpress-Yourself team, Faye O’Connor, Faye Hadley Fiona Petts Reanne Toone performed a Sound of Music inspired routine that the worked together to choreograph.

‘Well done thanks for a brilliant afternoon’.

The afternoon ended with a group dance, revisiting a dance taught in class to This Ole House, it was wonderful watching dancers from different classes literally inter mingle with one another.

‘FAB Thank you all yummy scones too.’

We know that Perry Como is responsible for Magic Moments and nothing could have been more magical then all the dance classes dancing together for our Tea Dance finale of Catch a Falling Star. A perfect ending for a lovely afternoon!

‘Fab afternoon ladies..we really had fun and your dance routine was lovely.’
