On Wednesday 3rd July Xpress-Yourself opened the doors of Solihull Methodist Church for our annual Keep Dancing Non Traditional Tea Dance. It will be no surprise that a lot of dancing was enjoyed by all and it was quite a special sight watching our dancers from across the West Midlands dancing and socialising together.
This year we introduced our first ever Paso Dobleathon which saw our dancers dance our warm up Paso Doble one group at a time. All dancers were very supportive of one another and fully embraced having fun and celebrating our dances together.
Faye Hadley and Helen Mason treated us to two toe tapping performances, a routine you will recognise that was recently taught in class ‘Puttin on the Ritz’.
And proved that they were no dancing fools dancing a new routine to be taught in Keep Dancing classes soon to ‘Dancin Fool.’
We celebrated one of our dancers 91st Birthday and Dorothy was serenaded with all dancers singing Happy Birthday to her. Dorothy is truly an inspiration to us all and we hope that we are still dancing when we are 91!
Our afternoon ended with everyone dancing together to We Will Rock You and of course it would no end of Keep Dancing would be complete without a collective Catch a Falling Star.
Keep Dancing continues to grow and attract new dancers and we sincerely thank all our dancers for their support. Xpress-Yourself receives no funding to run Keep Dancing classes so your support attending our classes is truly appreciated. Thank You.
