The Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust Carers Event took place on the 5th June at the Midlands Art Centre. The event was designed to provide carers with resources, tools and information for accessing support, as well as fun and interactive stalls advertising the services within the community which can help tackle isolation and improve mental and physical wellbeing.
One of these stalls represented Xpress-Yourself Dance CIC, and we want to give a massive thank you to our wonderful dancers Tina, Barbara and Tracey who did an incredible job of getting the Keep Dancing word out there!
“It was a pleasure today, firstly meeting up with people I haven’t seen for a while, all agreed need a new project to do! and talking to people about the dance classes, especially the carers options, did have some really good reactions and one community nurse suggested putting the classes on the carers events list. Some of demonstrated some dances from the Keep Dancing for carers from home video and , got a couple to join in as well.”

For a while now we have provided classes tailored for unpaid carers, including our online and downloadable carers classes. We know how difficult finding time to focus on yourself can be, so we aimed to make these classes as accessible as possible.
Events like these help us spread the word and find new lovers of dance (we know there’s a lot of us out there!) We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supports Xpress-Yourself Dance CIC. We couldn’t do it without you!
